As a writer, mom of three school-aged children, and youth ministry leader for over fifteen years, I teach parents how to recognize the heart of the gospel tucked into their family’s everyday life.

Three things to know about me:
A teacher but not in a classroom…
I’ve spent most of my adult life choosing to hang out with teenagers. Whether in public school, the nonprofit sector, church, or parachurch youth ministry settings, I’ve enjoyed walking alongside young people as they learn to navigate life. As counselor, teen director, coach, and youth leader, I’ve listened to their stories and shared mine—stories of victory and failure and how I’ve grown through both.
I’m grateful for those who discipled me along the way—it’s why I do what I do. I enjoy the privilege of passing it on–speaking in large and small group settings, facilitating discussions, building relationships, writing Bible studies, and mentoring young people. Additionally, one of my greatest privileges is coaching and equipping parents to disciple the next generation of Jesus-followers in a world increasingly unacquainted with the gospel.
Now also, I mentor my own three children in the messy dance of motherhood.
I think outside the lines and inside the Word…
I’m a truth seeker. Aside from studying Scripture and receiving encouragement from other believers, one of my favorite ways to remove the scales from my eyes is by finding the gospel in unlikely places. And I’m passionate about helping others do the same.
As an overnight camp counselor in my early twenties, I used the story of Finding Nemo to explain the gospel to one hundred youth campers around a bonfire. They were captivated. I’ve been connecting listeners and readers to the deeper story in media ever since.
To this day, I can’t help but ugly-cry while watching Disney movies or even at Magic Kingdom’s midday parade. Stories capture our hearts. And as I parent and disciple my own kids, it means even more to me to help families see the gospel threaded into the everyday stories we encounter.
Get this: Screen time doesn’t have to be a constant battle; with the right tools, it too can be a catalyst for your family’s next gospel-centered conversation. I’m here to teach you how. Daily in need of an attitude adjustment…
Or read spiritual sight adjustment. I’m sometimes a hot mess, and when it comes to my walk with Jesus, I can be a slow learner. Growing in Jesus is a process, to be sure. If that’s you, too, you’re in the right place! We’re going to watch God remove the scales together!
